College Bound Parenting, LLC ("CBP," "we," "us," or "our") operates the websites collegeboundparenting.com and cbpvillage.com, along with related tools, applications, and services including Ask Walter AI, the Strategic Plan Prompt Generator, EssayIQ, the Scholarship Finder, the Common App Activity Section Builder, and related coaching services (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Services. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services.
We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all users, with particular attention to the privacy of minors and the sensitive categories of information our Services may process.
Ask Walter AI is an AI-powered college success coaching tool built on the Delphi AI platform (delphi.ai). When you interact with Ask Walter AI through chat or voice ("Talk mode"), your conversation is processed by Delphi AI's platform.
What this means for your data:
When you paste a prompt into Ask Walter AI or have a voice conversation, the content of that interaction is transmitted to and processed by Delphi AI's servers. Delphi AI's own Privacy Policy (available at delphi.ai/privacy) and Terms of Use (available at delphi.ai/terms) govern how Delphi AI handles, stores, and processes your conversation data.
College Bound Parenting does not independently store conversation transcripts from Ask Walter AI sessions. However, as the creator of the Ask Walter AI digital mind on Delphi's platform, CBP may have access to conversation summaries and usage analytics provided by Delphi AI.
We encourage you to review Delphi AI's Privacy Policy to understand how your conversation data is handled by the underlying platform.
How the Prompt Generator works:
The Strategic Plan Prompt Generator is a form-based tool that runs entirely in your web browser. When you fill out the form, the following applies:
No data is transmitted to any server. The form runs locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your inputs (including student name, grade, GPA, test scores, career interests, and all other form fields) exist only in your browser's temporary memory (RAM) while you are using the form.
No data is stored. When you close the browser tab or navigate away from the page, all form data is permanently deleted from your browser's memory. We do not save, log, or store any information you enter into the Prompt Generator.
No cookies or tracking. The Prompt Generator does not use cookies, local storage, session storage, or any other browser persistence mechanism to retain your form data.
Data leaves your device only when you choose to copy and paste. The Prompt Generator produces a text prompt that you may choose to copy to your clipboard and paste into Ask Walter AI. This action is initiated by you, and at that point, the data is governed by Delphi AI's Privacy Policy as described in Section 2 above.
Our Services may collect or process the following categories of sensitive information, all of which are provided voluntarily by you:
The Prompt Generator and coaching services may ask about cultural or ethnic background, first-generation college student status, and community affiliations (such as NSBE, Jack and Jill, or other organizations). This information is used solely to personalize coaching recommendations, including culturally relevant school recommendations, community-specific scholarship opportunities, and guidance on navigating higher education as a member of an underrepresented community. This information is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than personalizing your coaching experience.
The Prompt Generator and coaching services may ask about diagnosed learning differences (such as ADHD, autism spectrum, dyslexia, or other conditions), current accommodations (IEP, 504 Plan, or college disability services), and specific learning challenges. This information is used solely to personalize coaching recommendations, including schools with strong disability support programs, accommodation transition guidance, and study strategies tailored to how the student learns. This information is never shared with schools, admissions offices, or any third party. Disclosing this information is entirely optional and will never be used to limit or negatively affect the coaching provided.
The Prompt Generator may ask about household income range and financial aid needs. This information is used solely to personalize scholarship and financial aid recommendations. We collect income ranges (not exact figures) and do not store this information beyond your browser session.
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. The Prompt Generator is designed to be used by parents or guardians on behalf of their children. If a child under 13 uses the Prompt Generator, they should do so only with parental supervision.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@collegeboundparenting.com.
Students between the ages of 13 and 17 may use Ask Walter AI and the Prompt Generator. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's use of our Services. When a student uses the Prompt Generator, they are entering information about themselves that will be included in a text prompt. Students should be aware that pasting this prompt into Ask Walter AI means sharing that information with the Delphi AI platform.
College Bound Parenting is not an educational institution or school official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Information shared with our Services by parents or students is provided voluntarily and is not considered an education record under FERPA. However, we treat all student information with the same care and confidentiality as if FERPA applied.
When our Services are provided through an institutional partner (such as the American Heart Association Scholars Program, NSBE, Jack and Jill of America, or a school district), the following applies:
The institutional partner may provide us with student names and contact information for the purpose of providing coaching services. We use this information solely to deliver the contracted coaching services.
Usage analytics (such as number of sessions, time per session, and satisfaction ratings) may be shared with the institutional partner in aggregate or individually as specified in the institutional licensing agreement. These analytics help the partner evaluate the effectiveness of the coaching program.
We do not share the content of individual coaching conversations with institutional partners unless explicitly authorized by the student or parent.
Sensitive information (cultural background, learning differences, financial information) entered into the Prompt Generator is never shared with institutional partners.
In addition to the information processed through the Prompt Generator and Ask Walter AI, we may collect the following information when you create an account or use our Services:
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Prompt Generator provides an additional layer of security by processing data entirely in your browser without transmitting it to our servers.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@collegeboundparenting.com.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact us at info@collegeboundparenting.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
